Recipe for the Anti-Anxiety Tonic

Herbs: The main constituent of this tonic is Ashwagandha. I have highlighted this herb previously as a stand-a-lone herb that helps strengthen your immune when exposed to stress events. However, for this tonic, it is combined with others relaxing herbs which include Lemon-balm, Chamomile and Lavender.

A paragraph on each herb.

Ashwagandha [Withania somnifera] is an evergreen shrub that has been used for years to help manage stress. It has been shown to reduce cortisol, known as the stress hormone. Not only that, it decreases depression and improves mood. For use today, it has been shown and proves to reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety. This herb can also be found in teas and supplements.

Lavender [Lavendula] is extremely well know for its relaxing effects on mind and body. Used to decrease stress and anxiety and aids symptoms of depression and a highly strung nervous system. A common herb contributing to better quality sleep as well.

Chamomile [Matriciaria chamomilla] A gentle herb relaxation and stress reduction. Along with many other health benefits, chamomile is a relaxant and settles and soothes an upset stomach and reducing anxiety overall in the body.

Lemon-balm [Melissa officinalis] A gorgeous plant easily grown, as a potent anti-anxiety remedy on its own. It has benefits for symptoms of insomnia.
